pink elephants and green alligators make for a very happy birthday

For my girls’ 3rd birthday I found these fondant animals on etsy.com from “The Cupcake Stylist” and knew we had to do their whole birthday theme around these little animals. So the entire party became pink and green. Here’s a few personal snapshots of the details from our family cake party.  -Lynn Butler Beling

Simple white buttercream cakes from our local Tate’s Bakery were adorned with the fondant animals I ordered from the shop The Cupcake Stylist on etsy.com.

A serve yourself bar of pink lemonade with plastic bottles which were safe for little ones. Pink and white striped straws and happy birthday straw tags made the drinks a bit more festive. A funnel made pouring into the bottles easier.

Homemade sugar cookies in the shapes of alligators and elephants were also a sweet treat.

Of course the arrival of the pink, green and white balloons was a big hit.

Once you have a color palette selected for your party or a theme like this one, searching for party decor and invitations can become fun because your choices are narrowed down. I found these pink elephant notecards for invites or thank you notes from Carrot & Stick Press. Below, simple pink, green and white paper cups and beverages with green labels or bottles were an easy choice to fit in with the color palette. Green and white polka dot and striped napkins also fit the bill.
