Susan Spungen, former Food Editor of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and author of “Recipes: A Collection for the Modern Cook” had a gorgeous summer wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York. Vegetables inspired table names, represented by seed packets and letterpressed on seating cards. Fresh tomato miniature sandwiches and an heirloom-tomato salad were enjoyed by guests. After a week hiatus we’re back and we’ve been inspired by the work of photographer, Kenneth Josephson. His series on paper and books is amazing and it finds beauty in the seemingly ordinary. Continuing with neutrals this week I have selected some of my favorite whites that all have a bit of gray in them- even though the computer doesn’t show the colors as they really look. The exception would be Picket Fence which is a darker neutral. These shades of white change throughout the day when they are in your home. Whether you celebrate on the eve of New Years or on New Years Day, white flowers are always a favorite of mine for table settings. Like a clean slate, white symbolizes a fresh start to the new year.
