The exclusive residential community and club, The Lyford Cay Club, was recently re-done by Tom Scheerer (photograph by Pieter Estersohn). The layering of coral/peach with pink and accents of yellow is great example of how to pull this week’s color palette together. I’ve been seeing the color palette of coral combined with a pale pink here and there. Some coral’s are deeper and some a little softer. I’ve also been seeing this color palette with a touch, or an accent of yellow. It’s a very beautiful combination I think. It’s very sophisticated and feminine- but I think the addition of yellow makes it stronger, bolder and and more vibrant.
Patricia Urquiola, architect and designer, has designed a new line of vases for Baccarat called “variations”. In working with the master glassmakers, together they have developed new methods of lacquer under the glass which gives a different type of radiance to the glass.

Architect David Mann renovated this gorgeous apartment for Darcy Miller Nussbaum (Editorial Director for Martha Stewart Weddings) and her husband Andy and their three daughters. Since summer is upon us, using coral and starfish for a centerpiece seems appropriate and so pretty in a white, cream and metallic color palette. I love using natural objects like the coral vs. flowers sometimes because I can set the table in advance and not have to worry about the centerpiece wilting or dying too early before my guests arrive.
