beauty: dr.’s remedy enriched nail polish, free of the big 3 toxins

Recently I’ve been going to podiatrist, Dr. Langone and she recommends Dr.’s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish which is free of the three big toxins: formaldehyde, toluene and DBP. This nail polish is also enriched with tree oil and garlic bulb extract which are naturally occurring anti-fungal and antibacterial. This a a local New York company based in Brooklyn, founded by Dr. William Spielfolgel and Dr. Cirlincione. When Dr. Cirlincione’s wife was pregnant they began researching what was contained in most nail polishes and found many harmful toxins. So he partnered with Dr. Spielgolgel and they created Dr.’s Remedy. I would … Read more

it’s a kid’s holiday: trees, candy & oscar oh my!

I’m so glad I’ve saved several of the Martha Stewart Kids issues that I used to work on because this Candy Tree (photographed by Anna Williams) is so pretty I wanted to share it with you. Art Director, Deb Bishop did such an amazing job on these specials. I love the candy sticks around the bottom and the jelly candy as ornaments. Now that I have toddlers running around I realize you can’t put those ornaments from Bergdorf anywhere near the bottom of the tree – if at all!  Here are some online candy shops to help you recreate this look: … Read more

pink christmas? it’s magical for little girls

Little girls will love a pink Christmas tree.  A small pink Christmas tree for their room with a neapolitan color theme could be perfect.  I found this inspirational photo above on Linens and Things has a lot of pink artificial trees. If pink is too bright for your taste try a white tree and use pink and brown decorations. Below are some holiday shopping picks I found for decorating in this week’s color palette of pinks, whites and browns. Credits: Super Nova Ornament in pink, $5.95 each and Polka Dot Sheet Set, $14-119, from Land of Nod, Read more

we’re loving RH’s faux fur for holiday gifts

Restoration Hardware has some great faux fur gifts this year…at great prices! We snagged several of these faux fur wine bags for just $9 each and faux fur scarves for just $29 each. We also love their faux fur blankets (bigger than a throw) that cover the entire bed, on sale now for $199 (originally $250). It feels so decadent to snuggle up in this soft fur. It not only makes a great holiday gift- but also a wonderful anniversary gift.
