I try to keep a variety of colors in the color palettes I feature each week but lately I’ve been posting many shades of blues and neutrals. Seeing this photo from the Hermes Spring 2013 this weekend I just kept coming back to it again and again. It just feels so elegant, easy, crisp and understated. You can read the entire article “The Discreet Charm of Chistophe Lemaire” on online.wsj.com.
I pulled out a few Benjamin Moore paint colors from this inspirational photo as a more useful tool if you love this palette for your home. You can easily incorporate this palette by keeping the walls, floors and drapery neutral then add things like a navy blue linen sofa, mediterranean blue pillows, chairs or doors painted in blue colors to infuse the color. Backsplash tiles, cabinets… even something as simple as adding these two blue shades in towels to a neutral bathroom can freshen up your home and bring in a breath of fresh air.
My Stylist Note: Even though the “decorators white” looks a bit gray on screen, it actually is a basic white that I use for moldings and trims. It’s just a touch softer than “white”. So in your home it would be closer to the white bookcase the model is sitting on.
