A sure way to make your wedding celebration (or any party for that matter) memorable is to take the time to infuse some of your interests or background into the event. Even if you are having a black tie reception in the city it doesn’t mean you can’t bring in a few unique details to personalize it, even if it’s a bit of country (or vise versa). We love these Mini Mason Jar Shot Glasses that can also be personalized from HomeWetBar.com, set of 4, $12.95.
Directing your guests is always a good idea for any event, whether with signage, a map or an actual person helping to direct the way if there is a change of location throughout the celebration.
Large wood initials adorn this barn and rustic wood tables set the scene for an outdoor evening under the stars.
Personalize the serving trays or signs with a branding iron from Texasirons.com.
Mini pies or a pie buffet can be a welcome alternative to cake or in addition to a more classic wedding cake.
A cowbell is a fun detail. Check out the one I had engraved for the Alaska wedding I did- to call the guests to dinner.
A unique ring “pillow”. You can get tree slabs already cut in various sizes from save-on-crafts.com.
Note: One thing I learned from covering so many weddings is I would warn you about hay bails. I know when some brides dream of a country wedding they see images of hay bails for the ceremony seating. Keep in mind it’s itchy, buggy and not very easy for guests to sit on. I would recommend rustic benches or country chairs over bails, it’s best maybe to leave the bails to the scenic fields. – Lynn Butler Beling
