bring color into the kitchen- your appliances don’t have to be stainless

When I designed my kitchen I didn’t want to see a lot of stainless appliances, so I ordered cabinet faces for my refrigerator, dishwasher and freezer drawer. But then when I was at the Viking showroom in New York and I saw how many colors their appliances came in… I was excited. My kitchen color palette is navy, light blue and white (which you can see in House Beautiful‘s April issue). So I selected white double ovens and a white warming drawer to blend in with my cabinets. But you can select from Viking’s 12 different color options. Viking has graciously to ask me to be a guest pinner for them on Pinterest. I am going to start pinning today, so I hope you’ll follow me and we can find some great kitchen and design inspiration together. Send me a photo of your kitchen if you’d like-I’d love to see what colors you have in your kitchen or just let me know what colors you’d like to see in kitchens more often. If you are unsure about what color you might love for a large appliance then why not try out some small accessories for awhile and see if you like the color in your kitchen first… like mixing bowls, a pepper grinder, tea towels or a toaster or blender. Try stores like Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate and Barrel, Ikea, Target- they all have rather inexpensive accessories in a range of colors like this Dansk 4 Quart casserole, this bowl and collander set or these colorful spatulas. -Lynn Butler Beling
