coke centerpiece…easy!

Need an idea for a centerpiece for a last minute party?  I always look around the grocery store to see what I can purchase for a fun centerpiece while I’m doing the shopping- (or as I do in the summer, order directly from freshdirect.com to avoid the crowds) A drink is always a quick and easy centerpiece….whether it’s multiple carafs of wine, lemonade, punch, or in this case to be festive in the blue, red and white color palette- old fashioned bottled coke. Most anything used in multiples in the center of a table can make a fun centerpiece. I just grouped the bottles together in an even rectangle going down the center of the table- and I made sure to have some fun bottle openers on hand, as well as red striped straws. Together with my $10 blue, red and white plaid tablecloth I found at Brimfield this year and my vintage red rimmed enamelware, my memorial day table was casual and easy. For a cocktail, add a tray of rum, ice, lime, and a funnel so your guests could add rum to their coke bottles. Put this at the end of your rectangular table or on a bar cart to the side for easy access.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match stripes and plaids as long as they are in the same color palette. Instead of plastic utensils I used Bambu, $8.50/set. Dog bottle opener, $17.50, from The Product Gallery.
