This was my first post back on April 9th, 2012 and since it was, there weren’t too many readers. It’s one of my favorite color combinations though, so I thought I’d re-post it for those of you who have now joined my blog. Thank you for your weekly support and I hope you keep coming back! – Lynn Butler Beling
I love this color palette. I keep coming back to this color combination because I think it’s both masculine and feminine. Chanel included this palette in their spring 2012 runway show. (see below) The flower in the photograph above is a custom fabric flower pin from an amazing workshop called dulken and derrick. Send your favorite fabric in for a custom color flower or select from their wonderful fabric flowers in stock. Besides wearing this flower pin, when setting your table you could also place one of these fabric flowers at each of your female guests’ place setting as an unexpected favor. I also found some paper flowers on etsy.com you could use as favors or decor. (see below) Pale pink quilling paper from your local craft store cut to a desired length make simple thin place cards. (I like using quilling paper for place cards- it’s so much easier than cutting perfect little pieces of colored paper) Add some drama to your table with these black matte glass tumblers, made in Japan, $33 each, from little blue dish to complete the palette. (Come back tomorrow for more tabletop ideas)
Paint chips: If you are looking to create this mood with paint try these colors from benjamin moore: pink cadillac #2002-70, frosty pink (peach) #2010-70 or a nice combination of the two with a little more depth to it, try pink seashell #2009-60. Since black is such a dark color for walls, try mixing in black accessories to create this color palette in a room- like throw pillows, frames, framed mirrors, candles or patterned rug- though you could also have one or two pieces of your furniture in black for a dramatic flair- like a black sofa or side chair, vanity, console or bookcases- though I’d stay clear of a bulky black leather sofa and keep furniture lines clean and upholstery soft- like in a cotton/velvet or a soft linen for the peach and pale pink. (Keep following the blog this week for an inspirational interior photograph using this color palette)
