Whether it’s iced tea or hot tea (because your office air conditioning is causing your to wrap up in a sweater & mittens in the dead of summer), show off the beautiful color with a glass tea cup. When the German glass factory Jenaer Glas was closing I bought up a lot of their tea cups- so now they are collector’s items. Add these glasses to your kitchen collection or buy one just for your office- I promise you’ll love them! Available online at my shop, $11 each, theproductgallery.com. tuesday’s tabletop: metal hanging labels as placecard holders
I found these metal hanging labels that make great placecard holders for a rustic, casual table setting. Cream card stock cut down to size with each guests’ name and leather lacing tied through the hole finish it off. (These would be perfect in conjunction with the menu card on a wooden clip board for the table that I featured yesterday from “The Barn” restaurant-see photo below via &SMITH) SOURCES: Set of 12 metal hanging label holders, $18, from Ballard Designs, Linen Napkin, $22, from The Product Gallery/ Little Blue Dish Shop, Leather Lacing, from S & S … Read more
red, white and blue: 4th of July picnic details
This year I have a lobster theme threaded through my 4th of July picnic. But this color palette and the following details can really work all summer long- for any party. I added the red, white and blue ribbon to each one. Watermelon wedges soaked in a little vodka (pictured below) and served with flag picks are refreshing shooters for the adults. Continue … Read more
tabletop: Jars tableware from France
When I say I carry “Jars” dishes and bowls at my store, Little Blue Dish (formerly “The Product Gallery”), most clients are not familiar with the brand. It is a beautiful line I carry from France in a greeny-blue, a pale sea blue and a cream. Jars ceramics was started in 1857 but in the 80’s, founder Pierre Jars’, great-grandson modernized the brand and improved the quality for everyday use. Today the stoneware is still handcrafted in the south of France. Please take a look on my shopping site at the gorgeous chargers, plates, cups, saucers and … Read more
tabletop: blue, orange and white
Once you’ve decided on a color palette for your table setting, it’s easy to pick up inexpensive things to bring it together. When you are out shopping- anywhere- from the grocery store to a party store to a department store, just keep your eye open for your specific colors and zero in on them. You’re likely to find something you might never considered. When out shopping at one of my favorite stores I stumbled upon these vintage little jars- tiny ones in blue and medium sized ones in white. They don’t make a large centerpiece, but what great little vases … Read more
