blue, red and white stripes for floors

As I discussed before- a rug can make a huge impact on your interior space. Check out this blue, red and white rug in this sophisticated blue and white room, photographed for Lonny Magazine and designed by Michele Bonan Interiors. The designer kept things crisp and clean with white painted trim, white furniture and pops of blue and red throughout the space. You could also play with stripes and ticking too for upholstered pieces to give a little more of a traditional feel to the decor. If you haven’t heard of Dash and Albert Rugs, check out their cotton striped rugs for indoors and outdoors- I love them!

This painted floor (see photo below) that Coastal Living Magazine featured is also a really fun way to detail your space (especially if your wood floors are in need of repair or have imperfections- consider painting them). Try HC-154 Hale Navy or 1624 Westcott Navy from Benjamin Moore, Ruby Red F7 from Ace Hardware and Blue’s Blue or Bluebird from Stark Paints if you’d like to try and recreate this look in your home. Primitive Stenciling can do a custom floor stencil for you.
