cranberry red celebrations

Whether you are hosting a shower, birthday party or just friends for a fall afternoon, a cranberry theme can be perfect this time of year. An easy decorating idea is to fill your votives (or vases) with cranberries. Yesterday I posted the classic “Cape Cod” cocktail. But if you are looking for a warm cranberry drink, visit tasteofhome.com for several creative recipes. Iomoi has unique custom designs for invitations, personal stationery and even gifts- take a look at their site!  Use beautiful wrapping paper as a table runner to decorate your buffet, coffee table or dining table. New York Central Art Supply has gorgeous papers, one of my favorites is the “Bertini” line from Florence- try the red pattern you see pictured, #165 (red). Candy as favors or in large bowls add color, these chocolate cranberry truffles in red foil will add a festive touch. I found this wonderful recipe blog named “A Farm Girl’s Dabbles” that I know you all will like.  Her Aunt Donna’s Cranberry Cake with Butter Cream Sauce would make a great sweet to serve any time of day. Red & burgundy flowers from your local florist (have them fill the vases with cranberries so you don’t see the stems) of course would be a beautiful addition to the decor or have your florist make you a fresh flower wreath for your front door to greet your guests.  Have fun with it!
