salted caramel and nutella stuffed double chocolate chip cookies

We stumbled upon this enchanting blog called Top With Cinnamon, written by an 18 year old student named Izy, living in London. She makes her “mums” family recipes, mostly baked goods like these cookies. Another batch of cold weather is here on the East Coast, so it’s a good weekend to savor some time inside in the warm kitchen baking chocolate cookies, right? Here’s a link to the recipe.

kit kat cheesecake bars, we’re in love

We just couldn’t resist sharing this recipe for Kit Kat Cheesecake bars via Bakers Royal. Remember a color palette doesn’t just have to lend itself to decorating your home. You can make your party look like the pages out of a magazine by weaving in your color palette where possible, not only with tablecloths and flowers but with desserts and drinks. And with Saint Patrick’s Day coming up soon, these Black and Tan Beer Pops from Betty Crocker are a great alternative rather than just serving up everything green.

this week’s color palette: warm reds and neutrals

I love this photograph from inspiringtheeveryday.com. This blog has so many great seasonal recipes. And although these stone fruit tarts might be more of a summer recipe, take a peek at the fall and winter recipes like butternut squash, celeriac, parsnip and apple soup. With the weather getting colder and the holidays right around the corner this color palette seems so inviting and warm. As we do every Monday we’ve selected Benjamin Moore Paints to coincide with our inspiration photo.

the milk pail’s hot spiced cider recipe, yum!

I took a rare morning off today and I went on a field trip with my daughters. We went apple picking at the Milk Pail in Watermill, NY. It’s a 13th generation family run farm by the Halsey family. Nestled near Mecox Bay and the ocean it’s a beautiful farm complete with a stand in the middle of the fields complete with coffee, cider, donuts, fruit and more. I thought I’d share their Hot Spiced Cider recipe they gave us this morning. Can’t wait to try it out! – Lynn Butler Beling The Milk Pail’s Hot Spiced Cider (serves 8) … Read more

this week’s color palette: red & metallic silver (inspired by mini cherry pies)

As the summer is ending I think we’re all starting to think about fall recipes and comfort food. This week’s color palette was inspired by these mini cherry pies that you can make in a cupcake pan. Serve one warm mini pie for each of your guests with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and I bet everyone will go home with a smile on their face. Here is the full recipe link.

When planning a party or just having a simple dinner party or luncheon it’s always nice to consider your color palette when selecting your cocktails and desserts.  This is sometimes impossible but I find Pinterest to be a great source of inspiration especially when it comes to finding new recipes.
