What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a beautiful and magical wedding. This marriage story actually began when Megan and Thomas were young. Megan and Thomas grew up right across the street from each other on 79th Street in Manhattan. Fast forward and Thomas proposed to Megan by waking her one morning a few days before her birthday with a 9 week old puppy that had a diamond ring on a ribbon tied around it’s neck. And if that’s not romantic enough, they chose the wedding to take place at ‘the most beautiful place we have ever been in … Read more

jen huang photography & her gorgeous blog
Although I have worked with many photographers that we have featured here on my blog, there are of course so many great photographers out there that I haven’t worked with and there is one lately I keep coming back to- Jen Huang. I love her style and that she can capture both the details, the essence of a location and the people (not so many photographers are good at both). Her main site has a handful of featured weddings and celebrations so you can see her overall style, but I love her blog. She posts many more shots there … Read more
weddings: photographer laura billingham captures a pretty pale blue, gray and violet wedding in barnardsville, nj
Renowned wedding photographer, Laura Billingham captured the essence of this pretty blue, lavender and gray wedding in the bride and groom’s details. It’s important to go over all the details of your flowers before your big day, like how your bouquet will be tied and what type of ribbon will be used. This bride chose a very neat band of cream ribbon secured with pearl pins in lieu of a large cascading bow. All the … Read more
weddings with expert liz banfield: forgo the custom of matching bridesmaid dresses
One of the freshest trends happening right now is to forgo the custom of matching bridesmaid dresses. This bride knew that her stylish friends could be trusted with picking out their own wedding day attire but still wanted her bridal party to project a cohesive look. Event designer Isabella Sikaffy of Florabella supplied the ladies with a swatch book of blush, ivory, and warm light gray tones that they could take with them to the store to make sure their gown would fit the color scheme and also allowed them express their individuality. What a great friend – no … Read more
a new year & new engagements
Happy New Year to everyone! Over the holidays many people get engaged and start the planning process for their wedding or celebration. The above bouquet is one of my favorites from The Best of Martha Stewart Living Weddings book which I had the honor of contributing. This is a wonderful book to buy for yourself or as a gift for the bride to be. It touches on everything from flowers to tents to keeping memories. Which by the way, you might be planning a baptism, an anniversary party, a big birthday party etc. this year and wedding books can … Read more
Lynn’s wedding anniversary (& some photos!)
Today is my wedding anniversary. I thought I’d share with you our wedding photos that appeared in Martha Stewart Weddings and were photographed by Holger Thoss (so many years ago!). Our wedding was in NYC at Christ Church on 60th and Park Avenue at 12:35pm (because it’s good luck to have the second hand on the ‘up-swing’). After the ceremony, together with our guests we were led by bagpipes up Park Avenue four blocks to the Hotel Plaza Athenee for an afternoon cocktail party with a live jazz band. It was a very small wedding, about 70 people. … Read more
