so, you want to paint your room purple? here are a couple suggestions

Selecting the right purple to paint your room is no easy task, so here are a couple recommendations for you. Above, a nice, light, calming shade from Benjamin Moore called Lavender Mist 2070-60 and below a warm, deep shade called Purple Haze 1413. Pair the deep hue with accents of Navy and it’s really striking and moody. Paint your trim in Decorators White like you see in the room above and it keeps it light and etherial.

Did you happen to see the November issue of Town & Country? It had a gorgeous story on jewels, photographed by Carlton Davis. I loved the photography and styling. He set the jewels on a Monopoly game board and creatively used the playing pieces, cards & dice. Simply Beautiful.

Designer David Kaihoi’s apartment which was featured in House Beautiful has creative ideas for small spaces. Here you can see using color can still be done in a small space. He used Benjamin Moore‘s “Purple Haze” on the walls and for the floor he painted a pattern to look like a rug with “Hale Navy”. It’s fashion week in NYC and although this isn’t from the new Jason Wu collection, (photo from Vogue) the color palette is very inspiring. Deep navy and cool violets paired with black accessories, a touch of pale violet and a whitish gray is a gorgeous palette- for fashion, interiors, tabletop, weddings & celebrations. Fall forecast: is eggplant the new black in color trends?

If you are looking for a perfect shade to paint your dining room, media room or library so it feels cozy and sexy here are a couple shades you might want to try…Farrow&Ball’s Brinjal #222 and Benjamin Moore’s Caponata #AF-650. That’s what I’m seeing for fall.
