What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a beautiful and magical wedding. This marriage story actually began when Megan and Thomas were young. Megan and Thomas grew up right across the street from each other on 79th Street in Manhattan. Fast forward and Thomas proposed to Megan by waking her one morning a few days before her birthday with a 9 week old puppy that had a diamond ring on a ribbon tied around it’s neck. And if that’s not romantic enough, they chose the wedding to take place at ‘the most beautiful place we have ever been in … Read more

an elegant southern wedding: kaminer haislip to matthew quinn, charleston, south carolina
A few months ago I introduced you to silversmith Kaminer Haislip. (read the full post here) She designs the most beautiful pieces so it’s no surprise that her wedding was elegant and sophisticated too. Kaminer and her husband, Matthew were married in the month of September in Charleston, South Carolina, so a color palette of gray, orange, creamy whites and blues was just perfect. (see our color palette this week that we introduced on Monday for your color guide) They were married at First Scots Presbyterian Church and held their reception at the William Aiken House … Read more
red, white and blue wedding: an aussie and an american choose a color palette in honor of their countries
Happy 4th of July! In honor of the 4th I thought I’d share this wonderful wedding photographed by Liz Banfield and designed by Isabella Boyer Sikaffy of Florabella. The groom is from Australia and the bride from California. So as a nod to their nations shared colors they choose a red, white and blue color palette for their wedding. They chose a red and blue monogram that carried throughout the wedding, starting with the invitations. You can make custom stamps on zazzle.com, a website I’ve used numerous times for custom printed products. Zazzle even lets you use a … Read more
Pink & Green: the wedding of Laura & Tory Patterson
This gorgeous late summer wedding in Napa was designed by Isabella Sikaffy of Florabella Weddings and photographed by Liz Banfield. This application of the pink and green color palette is such a great example of understated chic. I love the simple wreaths with pink ribbons as bride and groom chair decorations and the overall table settings (see photo below) are just beautiful. Combining topiaries for the ‘green’ and white, cream and pink flowers interspersed down the long rectangular tables is so appropriate for an outdoor garden reception. I’ve been loving these long rectangular tables outside in a garden with the … Read more
Southern Hospitality- the Wedding of Katie and Tony Conway
Katie and Tony’s favorite color is orange- so it made perfect sense to include orange in their wedding color palette. They started with their orange and blue invitations and followed through with the palette- all the way to the orange Camaro they drove away in. (These are vibrant colors, so you don’t have to get carried away with an orange wedding gown or all orange tablecloths.) Katie and Tony wove their color palette every so delicately through their ceremony and reception…from hanging paper lanterns from the trees, that Tony (being 6’9″) hung himself with fishing wire and fishing weights to … Read more
